School Houses

Chanel College has a house system with three houses; two of these are named after the founding schools’ that amalgamated in 1976 to form Chanel College. These founding school’s and now houses are St Joseph’s and St Brigid’s. The third house is named ‘Champagnat‘ after the Marist Brothers order, St Marcellin Champagnat.

Students work together across different age groups to participate and compete against the other houses in all house events. This helps form a closer relationship between the students and builds house spirit.

The house competition starts early in Term 1, and students compete in at least nine events (sport and cultural) throughout the year.

Parents, family and friends have well-supported house events. If your family already have an established association with one of our houses, please let us know in the enrolment process, as we will try to maintain that tradition.

For any house events, parent/guardian(s) are most welcome to come along to support and cheer on house participants.
